Join International Watercolor Society (IWS) Master Artist Zan Barrage on an unforgettable week of watercolors and fun in Sant’Angelo in Vado, in the heart of genuine Italy in Le Marche. Picture yourself among the sights and sounds of beautiful olive groves, vineyards and centuries-old buildings. Let’s paint the winding old streets and the rolling hills all bathed in the warm and vibrant sunlight of old Italy.
My goal is to guide you to loosen up and express yourself as you paint in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere with expert instruction and support no matter what your stage of experience is with watercolors. I have been teaching watercolors for over 10 years leading classes and workshops in Canada and around the world. Watercolor is my language, and I have been painting in the medium for more than 30 years.
For the experienced artists we will focus on design and capturing the mood and sense of place. The goal will not be postcard pictures, but rather paintings that transport the viewer to a moment in time and an authentic personal expression. I will work with you individually and push you to stretch and grow and flourish with your work.
The less experienced artists will never be left out. We will work on techniques and methods to make sure we can capture what we see and bring it home with us. I will work with the full group every day and will make extra time for anyone who needs more help after our painting sessions. I want us all to come back home with a few choice images that we are proud of and that remind us of an unforgettable workshop and vacation.
While demos are an important part of my teaching method, I am a teacher and I know this is not a show about my skills. This is a workshop to bring the artists in you to the next level of growth. That will be my focus with everyone. We will work on location and in the studio depending on our daily goals and the weather.
